    Guild Rules

You are not currently logged in. Please log in to accept these rules. If you do not know your password or cannot log in please contact a DKP officer. If you are applying to the guild you just need to fully read these rules, an account will be created for you once you join the guild allowing you to log in and accept them.

Preface: (Read this first)
These are general guild rules and how you are expected to behave. I know they are quite long, a lot of the information here may seem really obvious. However it appears there are a sizable number of people who need this spelt out to them. If you cannot be bothered to read this through in its entirety and take it to heart you are in the wrong guild. In this case please type "/gquit" at your earliest convenience to save us the trouble.

The Guild Rules
You must log into the DKP system and accept the guild rules on that site too. If you have not done so we will assume you have not read them.

If you do not know your password, or you would like your (level 85) character to be added to the system please contact an officer in-game.

Guild Message of the Day
Whenever you log in you are presented with the Guild Message of the Day (gmotd). This is also available from the social screen. You should read this information every time you log in and before you ask any questions along the lines of "are we raiding today". It is very annoying when we get 10 people over the space of 5 minutes asking a question answered in the gmod. Read it, then ask your question.

Raiding with other guilds
Do not run raid DKP instances with other Guilds without clearing it with an Officer. This counts for alts and mascots too, although mascots are more likely to be allowed. Baradin Hold is currently NOT PUGGABLE from the Wednesday reset to Mondays. This enables us to do multiple runs with the guild, earning you dkp. On Monday and Tuesday evenings, BH will be allowed to be pugged by those who haven't done BH during the rest of the week and are not in the main guild raid.

Account Sharing
Do not let other people use your account. If 'you' get kicked for acting like a bastard, or 'you' bid all your DKP on a crap items, it's your problem to sort out. We've had raids wipe on trash mobs before due to account sharing.

Inviting for Raids
All guild members should be in guild chat at all times. Pay attention to guild chat, do not mute it. If someone asks you a question please reply as soon as possible. If a raid leader is shouting for dps and you cannot come let them know in /g. If you are a hybrid class remember the raid leader may not know your spec especially if you are new or have changed recently. A simple "Sorry I'm resto" is a lot more welcome than silence. Under no circumstances should you ignore whispers from officers or raid leaders. What we are asking you is more important than your battleground.

Our raid invites typically start soon after 19:30 (server time) on week days, sometimes earlier on weekends. Please try to be online in time for the invites if this is possible for you. It is hard to work out if we can raid if people slowly drift online over the evening expecting to raid.

Do not be afk at raid invite time, this infuriates the raid leaders. If you're going to be afk for a long time please log out. If you are afk in a battleground h4xing honour and will not be available to raid (Work, study, going out soon etc) please make sure we are aware of this before you go afk. If you're going afk for just a couple of minutes at invite time please set an afk or dnd message indicating if you are able to raid and when you expect to be back.

Do NOT ask for invites for a raid until we call for them. The typical method of setting up a raid is:

  1. Do we have enough tanks?
  2. Do we have enough healers?
  3. Do we have enough crowd control?
  4. Fill rest with DPS
Look for our announcements. If we shout "Need dps/healers/tank for BWD" then it's your time to cry out "invite", please give us a chance. If you've only just logged in then just sit patiently. If we still need people we'll be continually announcing this, and probably notice you online soon enough and ask you to come anyway.

Raiding:
Before the raid
See sections on Ventrilo, UI mods and DKP system.
Get potions, elixirs, reagents, flasks, buff food etc.
Start flying immediately don't wait for a summon. If you're on the wrong planet and your hearthstone is on cooldown fly to the dark portal, don't assume we can summon.
When you get to the instance help summon.
Make sure your gear is good, it's all patched, enchanted, socketed. Remember you can replace enchants and gems with better ones later. Even crap items can be greatly improved with a few cheap enchants and gems. We have enchanters & crafters in the guild, they will help you.
Look up the boss fights up on wowwiki.com, bosskillers, youtube etc. This makes it a lot easier, we will progress faster, you will get more epics.
It helps if people have several level 85 raiding characters, ideally tank, healer and DPS. You should consider this a better use of your time than ganking horde.
Don't respec without talking to the officers. If you're been raiding with us for a while then respec you've just wasted all that gear you've got over the last few months and set us back again in our raiding progression. Work out what you want to play and play it, and be as good at it as you can be.
Make sure you have enough money to repair, also ensure you do not have any damaged gear.

Starting the raid, invites etc
Turn up on time.
If you arrive after the raid has started being prepared then read the gmod and look at the guild list. If everyone is in or outside BoT that's probably where we're going. The raid leader has enough to do without people whispering questions they could answer themselves.
Instead of just typing 'Is there a spot for me?' 20 times in /g, you hang on vent, and wait for us to start looking for a new person.
Join your role specific channel if one exists, e.g. /join avaricehealers

Buffing
At the start of the raid make sure someone assigns the buffs for your class. Indicate you heard the assignment and remember it. Write it down if you need to.
If someone dies rebuff them as soon as they are ressed or run in before you forget. If someone leaves buff their group too.
Someone else's group isn't buffed with your buff? Do it, don't wait for the Raid Check!

Tactics & Assignments
You should be aware of WHY we do things in fights, we do our best to explain the reasons, please listen to them.
Listen to the raid leader and anyone else giving out tactics and assignments. Don't go afk for a smoke while we are explaining tactics. Sit, listen, learn then do your damned best to get that boss down.
When we give out assignments for buffing, tanking, crowd control, healing, misdirect etc write back your assignment into RAID CHAT (or your role specific channel if appropriate). E.g. "RandomHunter> I MD Square onto Yorftz" or "RandomMage> I sheep Moon". If you do not do this we will assume you are afk and subtract dkp accordingly.
The raid's leader's decision is final.

During a fight

Concentrate on CC, decursing and protecting the healers over dps.
DO NOT hit sheep or other crowd controlled mobs. This means no AOE, cleave, multishot etc.
Rogues: If you get mind controlled and it pops blade flurry, cancel it BEFORE you continue dpsing if there are sheep around.
Listen for orders during the fight, circumstances may require a change in assignments or for the raid to move.
Do not DPS anything other than the skull unless explicitly told to. No skull? Don't dps.
Wait for the tank to get some aggro before you start dps.
Watch your threat meter carefully, in most circumstances there is no excuse for pulling aggro.
If the tank loses aggro stop dps until he gets it under control again (This obviously does not apply for mobs with no aggro table).
If a pull requires you to move into position (for example: Warlocks for the TK banish pulls) leave your pet behind, even if it's invisible, and move slowly.

During the raid in general
Be keen to raid, if you aren't why are you in a raiding guild?
You follow instructions on bosses, you admit to your mistakes, you REALISE you've made mistakes, and you do your best not to do them again (Example : Fizzle taunted Nalorakk in bear phase by accident, he shouted, warned the other tank, the healers, and apologised. He didn't just go quiet on vent and hope no one noticed).
You come to the raid leader before the raid with alternative tactics on bosses we haven't killed, and we discuss using those (which differs from simply saying 'My OLD guild used to just...'). Don't start discussing your alternative tactics publically when we are about to start the fight, people will get confused and not know which set we are using.
The concept of 'one last go' is more important than spending 10 more minutes in bed.
You're willing to swap out on bosses to make them easier.
If you think we missed something or made a mistake with the tactics tell us before we wipe.
If we need to run out to summon someone everyone run out, that means all of you, yes even you at the back trying to nip off for a smoke.
Please keep spam both in channels and on vent to a minimum, especially during boss fights.
If you make a mistake or get killed please don't scream and swear about it, it annoys people and hurts our ears.
Needless emoting (including Piccolos and Hallowe'en wands) aren't likely to even get you a warning before you're kicked.
Do not shout 'go' or 'pull' if you are not leading the raid, you will be kicked immediately. We have had wipes when people got confused over who was giving orders.
If you are not the designated puller do not pull, stand back out of harms way, assume every mob has a massive aggro radius.
Do not complain about how long tactics explanations are taking. Listen, learn and we'll get it down first time. In the long run this is probably faster, and certainly cheaper than an incomplete explanation followed by several wipes.

Wipes
You should be aware if you should release and run or not. At the start of the instance? Release, repair (if possible), run in. Respawns? Wait for a res.
Do not go afk after a wipe. Get in, get buffed, get ready for another go.
If we are ressing res the druids, priests, paladins & shaman first followed by other mana users. Sorry rogues, warriors and hunters.

Going AFK
Do not go afk unless you really need to. This includes dinner, we do expect our raiders to eat!
If you need to go AFK tell us, give a brief explanation AND an accurate estimation of how long you will be. Wait for confirmation before you leave.
If you are assigned to CC, Please tell the raid leader that you have to go afk, IN WHISPER!
We'll try to find someone else in the raid to CC.

Leaving the raid
If you have limited time make sure the raid leader is aware /before/ you join the raid.
Remind an officer or raid leader some time before you need to leave.
Try to find a replacement of the appropriate class before you have to leave.
If you randomly leave with "g2g bye" don't expect to have any dkp left, or to still be in a guild, when you next log in.
The same goes for people who have a 'mysterious disconnection' after a wipe and don't come back.

Ventrilo
We use ventrilo version 3.x. Get this installed and ensure you can connect to the guild server (if you cannot see someone from our guild on the server ask someone to join just to confirm that you are indeed on our server). Everyone in the guild should do this immediately. DO NOT wait until we start inviting for a raid.
You must display good manners if you wish to remain on our vent server, unnecessary rudeness will not be tolerated.
The topic of cats and their relative "cuteness" may not be discussed on vent during raids (much to some people's chagrin).

UI Mods
The following UI mods are REQUIRED
(if you have a raiding level character)
DeadlyBossMods
Omen

You should install these mods as soon as possible after joining the guild, do not wait for the raid. If you are using a different computer again install the mods before the raid. We will not accept the claim that you cannot get it to work. Chance are if 24 others in the raid have got it working it's you at fault, not the mod. Check the directory it is installed to, make sure it is selected on the Addon screen. Try disabling mods that could be conflicting. Most importantly do this BEFORE we start inviting for a raid.

Applying to join the Guild
When you apply to join the guild you must use the template provided in the recruitment forum, read the guild rules and agree to abide by them, this must be done by including the following line with your application:

"I have read the guild rules and agree to abide by them, codeword: "

Followed by a word of your choice starting with the letter of your class, e.g. for a paladin you could use "Party". Yes this is to see if you've actually read the rules :D

If you join the guild, a DKP account will be created for you when you first raid, you should get your password from the DKP officer then log in and accept the rules on this page.

DKP System

You get a DKP bonus if the raid starts on time and another if you stay until the offical raid end time.

As of Cataclysm, with the change to raid lockouts and loot distribution, the dkp granted for 10 and 25 mans are now equal at a total of 640 per run, divided 160 for start DKP and 480 for end DKP. The minimum bids for both 10 and 25 mans are also 640.
The loot master will make it clear what he is taking bids on and who you should WHISPER your bid to. If you have less dkp than the minimum bid you may still bid the minimum bid and go into negative. If you need any further information check the guild wiki and DKP site. If anything is still unanswered ask someone.

PvP (Arena, Battlegrounds etc)
We understand that some people enjoy PvP however please remember we are a PVE raiding guild. If we need you and you want to stay in a battleground or arena expect to be looking for a new guild. Similarly if you join a raid we expect you to move to the instance immediately, not "after a few more matches".

Selling Items
We recognise you may wish to sell items to fund your character. Please keep in mind the following:

1) If the item is useful to the progression of the guild we would prefer you to send it to us. The items we require are listed under DKP for materials on the DKP Site.
2) Consider either giving the item to a guildmate, or if it is expensive sell it at a discount. Please do not attempt to sell random junk at full price in /g.

Guild Forum & Wiki
Please read the information available on the wiki, we are continually getting asked questions already answered here.
We have a guild forum, please use it. This is the best place to make suggestions about how you would like the guild to the run.

Other
Play your class well.
Be friendly.
Enjoy yourself.
Use common sense.
Don't be an idiot.
